Six Novices Continue on the Journey

CHICAGO – As students of all ages are heading back to the classroom, six faith-filled women are headed to Chicago for a different kind of education. On Sunday, August 19, 2012, six women from across the United States began the Federation Novitiate.  “I sense it will also be a blessed time of growing,” says Sister Kelly Smock of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Erie, Pa. “A time of growing even more into the woman God has called me to become.”

Many of the women come to the novitiate already steeped in spirituality, mission and a passion for justice. The novitiate will offer them the opportunity to discover what it means to live this as a vowed religious among the Sisters of St. Joseph. Read more….

Sr Carol Zinn to lead LCWR

USA – Sr. Carol Zinn, a Sister of St. Joseph from Philadelphia, is the new President-Elect of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR). She will serve in this role in the coming year and will step into the role of President next year. As a Sister of St. Joseph, we support her with our prayers and pray she can bring our charism of unity and reconciliation to the current difficulties with the CDF.
